Microsoft claims to have developed an Xbox game shop for Android, but it is unable to publish it.

Microsoft executive Sarah Bond stated a few weeks ago that "players will be able to play and purchase Xbox games directly from the Xbox App on Android" in November. Bond claims that Microsoft is not to blame for the feature's continued non-existence, even though December is almost here.

> According to her, the issue is that Microsoft won't be able to do so until a court decision requiring significant changes to Google's Play Store for Android, including as allowing competition and removing the need for apps to utilize Google Play Billing, goes into place.

> The situation may remain unclear for some time after Judge James Donato approved Google's request for a stay while it appeals his decision that the Android app store is an illegal monopoly on October 18. In a Blue-sky post today, Bond mentioned it, saying, "We are unable to launch these features as planned at this time due to a temporary administrative stay recently granted by the courts." As soon as the court issues a definitive ruling, our team will have the feature developed and operational.

> Google spokesperson Dan Jackson responded to this piece by reiterating the statement the company had released a few weeks prior:

> Microsoft has always had the option to let Android users play and buy Xbox games straight from their app; they have just choose not to. Google Play's capacity to offer a safe and secure experience is in jeopardy due to the Court's ruling and the haste with which it was implemented. Like Epic, Microsoft is ignoring these serious security issues. Supporting an environment that benefits everyone, not just two of the biggest game companies, is still our top priority.

> For years, Microsoft has been preparing its approach to the mobile app market. As annoying as it is for gamers, the corporation has yet to state clearly why it is unable to offer Xbox game purchases, like PlayStation and Steam do, in addition to its built-in Xbox Cloud Gaming features. Additionally, we don't have any updates regarding the state of its browser-based mobile store, which remains in August with a "coming soon" sign.
